Good morning from Madrid!

Buenos Dias! Currently starting my second day in Madrid, Spain! So far it's been pretty amazing! I'll be posting pics and mini vlogs on here as much as possible! Here's a roundup of key things I've been enjoying about Spain so far!

Getting around:

Our hotel is located in central Madrid (I'll come back with the exact place) and it's a prime spot. We're surrounded by lots of cafes, restaurants, shops and and a pretty sweet mall/supermarket (El Corte Ingles). There are several points of access to squares and a park. It has been really easy getting around so far. We'll try taking the bus and train soon. I love that they have bike sharing spots almost everywhere and it's cheap!

 The food:

I think we haven't made too many good food choices lately. We went to a cafe and ordered a few tapas items but that ended up being extremely salty. The paella we ordered was not fresh. Also the server messed up our order and also jipped us a dollar in our change. We tried to explain to her how much change we needed back (90.60 euro to a bill of 83.60 and we get 6 euro back?? And of course we were going to tip her we just wanted change and then add to the 5). Perhaps there is a specific way to tip here. There was definitely a language barrier so we didn't push it further. Also we had pizza last night but that's the thing with my fam- a little safe in the food realm. I owe my adventure in extending my palate to Ethan. And I'll try my best to keep encouraging them to try something new!

Well that's all for now! I'll get back with more food pics and this beautiful city. The weather has been really awesome too! About 70 degrees and sunny!

Cool contraption for shots. But honestly it reminds me of a thing you would use to consume absinthe. You put absinthe in the shot glass with sugar water in the barrel. Then you add sugar water to each individual glass to your hearts content!
